Lime - Natural Hydraulic Lime Mortars.
Telling
Lime manufacture a range of natural lime mortar products for various applications,
together with stabilisation and consolidation grouts, mesh reinforcement and
lime paints and finishes. The natural hydraulic lime products are manufactured
using a modern day manufacturing process which replicates the strength,
porosity, adhesion and flexibility of historic mortars.
The products are
guaranteed against failure for 10 years and are warranted against defect under a
professional indemnity insurance.

Unilit B-Fluid X-B - A extremely fine natural hydraulic lime grout for
bonding delaminated plasters and renders by injection between detached
mortar or plaster and their substrate.
Unilit
B-Fluid - A range of natural hydraulic lime grouts for injection, static
reinforcement, stabilisation and filling of voids within wall
structures.
Unilit B-Fluid X-B
Natural Hydraulic Lime Grout
An extremely fine, ready mixed mortar
based on an inorganic, natural hydraulic lime binder, and a very fine filler.
The mortar is characterised by a low content of soluble salts, a low modulus of
elasticity and high vapour permeability. It is perfectly stable and carefully
prepared to limit problems of microfissures and to prevent premature drying out.
The binder will store a large quantity of salts, which may come from the
substrate and migrate because of humidity, which guarantees the performance and
extended life of the mortar.
The mortar is designed for injection between a
detached mortar or fresco and the substrate and is injected in holes drilled in
the loose render.
Colour: Beige.
Packaging: 25 kg bags, in powder
form.
Density: 1000 kg/m3.
pH: > 10.5.
Fire
classification: Non-flammable (M.O.)
Granular size: = 0.01 mm.
The
injection holes and cracks should be pointed with a suitable Unilit mortar as
clause 610, 520 or 530.
Consult Telling Lime technical service department for
advice on the suitability of the substrate.
Consult with Unilit technical
literature for details. Hydraulic lime mortars are specialist products and it is
recommended that Telling Lime are consulted early in the design
process.

Unilit B-Fluid X-B Natural Hydraulic Lime Grouting
Mortar.
Application:
Mix Unilit B-Fluid X-B with 15-32% of clean
water. Mix mechanically with a slow speed electric paddle mixer for 5 to 8 minutes.
Insert mortar using a
syringe with a maximum pressure of 1-2 bar, commencing from the lowest point of
the detached mortar and working upwards in bands of about 100 mm in height, to
avoid an overpressure and a complete detachment of the loose mortar. The mortar
remains workable for 2 hours and dries in 24-48 hours. Protect from frost for 48
to 72 hours.
Unilit B-Fluid
Natural Hydraulic Lime Grouts.
A range of 5, ready mixed mortars
designed for injection, static reinforcement or stabilisation, based on an
inorganic binder of natural hydraulic lime and a filler. The mortars are
perfectly stable and delicately prepared to limit problems of microfissures and
to prevent premature drying out. They are characterised by a low content of
soluble salts, a low modulus of elasticity and high vapour permeability. The
mortars will store a large quantity of salts, which may come from the substrate
and migrate because of humidity, which guarantees the performance and extended
life of the mortar.
The mortars are designed for application by injection or
pouring on walls, consisting of different components.
Unilit B Fluid 2, 3
& 4 grouts are formulated for injection, static reinforcement or
stabilisation. These preblended mortars, with different granular sizes, allow
application to fill voids within walls and masonry structures by injection or
pouring. For example, the core of a wall consisting primarily of earth clay and
stone will after severe water degradation be washed out to the degree where only
the outer walls remain as masonry. The injection of Unilit B Fluid 4 provides
linkage between the two façades to re-stabilise the structure. Unilit B Fluid 2
is a finer stabilising material used where cracking is evident due to movement
or shear. The location and size of voids should be determined, and holes drilled
in the masonry at intervals to ensure the flow of grout under gravity to fill
the voids. Alternatively, where it is possible to access to the core by removal
of masonry units the grout can be poured into the void, and mortar used to fill
the accessible void as below.
